I took this original recipe from here and tweaked it just a tad. One of the reasons I'm so excited about this bar is that it is customizable! The bananas, eggs and protein powder serve as a great base to add whatever you and/or your kids like.
Here is what Sloane and I threw in our mixer: (click here for the printable recipe)
- 2 bananas (mine were yellow, not brown)
- 2 scoops of vanilla protein powder
- 2 cups oats (I used old fashioned but I think other versions work too)
- 4 egg whites
- 1 snack sized container of unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup raisins
Here are some other ideas I thought of that would make great mixins:
- coconut
- chocolate chips
- dried blueberries
- almonds
- sunflower seeds
- lemon extract
- poppy seeds
- crasins
- peanut butter
Make sure you store these bad boys in the fridge!
