I've seen versions of this recipe a few different places but once I had the general idea I kinda threw everything together, added a few things of my own and voila- apple pie in a bag!
Here is what you need:
1 sliced apple - peeled, unpeeled whatever you want. (I just cored mine and left it with the peel on.)
1/4 cup granola (optional)
1/2 tsp maple/cinnamon spice
1/4 tsp cornstarch
1 packet sweetener (optional)
A few raisins (optional)
1 ziploc bag (Just make sure it's microwavable)
Here is how you make it:
Ok, listen up. This is really tricky. Are you ready?
Step 1: Throw everything in the bag
Step 2: Shake
Step 3: Nuke it for 2 minutes. **Leave the bag open just a little to vent
That's it! Easy as 1, 2, 3! I may have put a little sugar free maple syrup on it too. Shhhhh.
Seriously, you've got to try this. My kids even loved it!
I used Bear Naked Original Peak Protein granola in "original". I'd never used any of the Bear Naked products before because they are, in my opinion, a little expensive but this was the only granola I could find with under 10grams of sugar! Plus it has 6 grams of protein in each serving and it's tasty!
If you're feeling really fancy you could pair this with a little vanilla ice cream. I probably would have done that but I can't keep ice cream in the house. Warlords take it every time. (If you get that joke we should be friends)
Your turn: What's your favorite fall treat?
