GYMBOSS Interval Timer Review and Giveaway

As much as I hate to admit this, and please don't tell my husband, I am a terrible multi-tasker.  I like to pretend I can juggle multiple tasks at once but it never works out.  Something always gets forgotten, short changed or overlooked.

Unfortunately, the same holds true to my fitness routines.  If you've taken a class of mine you know that  I can not count reps, keep track of sets, watch form, provide feedback, offer encouragement, perform the exercise myself and smile all at the same time.  It's just not possible.

And this happens outside of class as well.  I head to the gym for a HIIT session and all I can think about is how I'm going to make it through the workout without up chucking let alone keep track of the time and interval number.

Enter the GYMBOSS Interval Timer- a Godsend for people who want to quit clock watching and focus on their workout.  Which hopefully includes everyone, right?

On this day my workout consisted of 12, 20 second sprints with 40 seconds rest in between
This little gem has so many benefits including...(taken from www.gymboss.com)

  • 1 or 2 intervals - 2 seconds to 99 minutes
  • Repeat up to 99 times
  • Beep and/or Vibrate alarm
  • Alarm duration 1, 5, or 10 seconds
  • Stopwatch function
  • Secure Belt clip
  • Compact Size (1 ¾ x 2 ¼ x ½ inches)
  • Water and shock resistant
  • AAA battery required

I use The GYMBOSS Interval Timer for every single cardio session and group exercise class I teach.  It's so easy to customize for your workouts including circuit training, high intensity interval training, sprints, and tabatas.  The list could go on forever.

It's easy to use.  Set your active time, rest time, select how many intervals and get moving!

One of my favorite features has to be the belt clip.  I clip it right onto my sports bra or collar and it stays put.  With that said,  this compact device has slipped out of my clumsy hands a time or two and it's extremely durable. I also love the vibrate alarm feature.  I can still listen to my tunes and stay on time with my intervals.

It also has a wonderful stopwatch option for all you Crossfitters who love keeping track of time and records!

So, you get it right?  I love the GYMBOSS Interval Timer.  Like LOOOOVE this thing.  And I know you will too.  With that said, I have some very exciting news for you today.  Are you ready?  Are you sure?  Here it comes...

  1. It is really nice to know that I am not the only one that can't keep track of sets/reps (ADHD strikes again...oooo shiney) and spends an entire HITT class concentrating on NOT throwing up. Glad I am in good company.

  2. I LOVE interval timers! I'd use mine for workouts with one of my clients, she's running/walking intervals to build up to a 5k. I'd also use it for speedwork for myself, I'm working towards a faster running pace!

  3. I've been doing a HIIT challenge and trying to use an app on my phone that isn't that great. I also use it for planking.

  4. This sounds awesome! And, of course, if I won, I'd have NO excuse to not do more speed work, so I guess that's how I'd use it. :)

  5. This would be awesome for Yasso 800's, a part of my triathlon training that I try to avoid. Mostly because it's crazy cold outside right now and I'm on an indoor track that is shorter than a outdoor track and it's really difficult to keep track of laps when it's like two and three quarters of a lap for 800 meters.

  6. I get really bored with cardio and love doing interval training, but it's sometimes hard to keep track. This device sounds SUPER! Thanks for bringing to my attention, Annie!

  7. I have been wanting one to use during my long training runs and races...the beep on my watch isn't nearly loud enough, especially if I'm listening to my music...this will help me hear my alerts for my run/walk intervals :)

  11. I've looked at the GYMBOSS interval trainer several times but never pulled the trigger. I've complied a whole bunch of HIIT workouts but haven't been able to get over the hump to get started. A free interval timer eliminates my excuses! I love the idea of getting in a good workout at home!

  14. Obviously I need this to keep my focus at the gym because I too get distracted. I would use it for HIIT workouts, sprints, core work-it's plain to see I need a lot of core work.... plus it would make me look pretty cool. Thanks!

  15. This would be great for training clients especially outside. I can totally relate to not being able to keep track of counting while teaching :)

  17. My friends and I just started doing a circuit workout twice a week. We have 7 stations set up in the basement. We do each station for a minute, 30 seconds rest and repeat three times. We have a wall clock that is difficult to see- having something that tracks our intervals would be amazing.
